Feeling Contained (Body Empowerment 75)” - Originally posted February 4, 2013 on YouTube.com.

I am beyond honored and grateful to have my story about being Tweeted by Lady Gaga published in the amazing xoJane.com! Consider this not only my personal experience, but my love letter of immense gratitude to all my friends and supporters - new and old - before, during, and as a result of this experience. As I say in the piece, “I share my story so no one has to feel that pain, so no one has to suffer alone or in silence, so we can lift each other from ruthless desperation and harness a world beyond mental illness stigma and body shame.”

My piece “Overcoming Trauma in the Throes of An Eating Disorder” was featured on page 19 of this issue of Making Connections, a publication of the National Eating Disorders Association. A look into how overcoming sexual violence and abuse trauma is possible, but a simultaneous and crucial reminder that violence against women - and men and all genders - must end now, and always.

SELF Acceptance and Recovery’s Ebb & Flow” - Originally posted October 15, 2012 on YouTube.com.

This video responds to a question from viewer Jill Carlson, host of “Eating As a Path to Yoga” - http://eatingasapathtoyoga.wordpress.com/.

Jill Carlson asked: How does one accept one’s SELF, as opposed to their physical body? How to deal with the ebb & flow of recovery?

I am so incredibly humbled and grateful for this moment and experience, as well as this beautifully written piece here in the Chicago Tribune. May every continuation of this journey spark dialogue, ignite an end of shame, and further cease this worldwide epidemic not only of eating disorders, disordered eating, and negative body image, but of the massive perpetuating fear that we are anything short of inherently worthy of the utmost self and shared love.

Special shout out to all of my new Tumblr followers in this journey. Thrilled to have you join “Body Empowerment.” Game on.

Always,
Caroline
